According to Bloomberg, Tim Lane (the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada) is "laying the groundwork to introduce a digital currency, should the need for one emerge”. What caught my eye about this story was, of course, that Canada has already had two digital currencies and abandoned both of them! The first was Mondex, the second was MintChip.
