I agree with you and Jack, but today's report on the BBC (not always to be trusted, but sound commentary on this occasion I think) from our Cash Queen, Nathalie Ceeney, suggesting cash withdrawals are 20% up on last year, suggests something is happening to attract people back to cash. I have not see the data on cash usage for payments, which may not be 20% up suggesting people are stashing cash under the mattress - despite it losing 10% of its value at least each year.

on our local message board today is a post from a guy who drew out a couple of grand to pay a builder and lost it on the way home!
